Fine Artist

Brad Forsythe is a distinguished fine artist whose lifelong career in the creative arts spans broadcasting, advertising, and fine art. A graduate in Film/Television/Radio from the University of Central Missouri, Brad initially excelled in broadcasting, working at top-rated stations in Kansas City, St. Louis, Missouri, and Houston, Texas, before co-founding Forsythe & Butler Advertising in Houston, Texas, and Maui, Hawaii. As President and Executive Creative Director, Brad and his company received numerous accolades from local and national creative organizations.

In 2001, as Co-Host, Brad conceived and launched The Advertising Show, and by 2003, the show had secured national sponsorship from Advertising Age Magazine and was relaunched as a nationally syndicated radio program. In 2005, it became a dedicated podcast, quickly becoming one of the most popular business shows on iTunes. Over the show’s run until 2014, Brad conducted over 750 interviews with ad agency luminaries, creative legends, CEOs, industry executives, business media journalists, and business book authors.

As a visionary and innovator, Brad Forsythe pioneered the concept of transacting media advertising through an internet-based platform. Driven by his entrepreneurial spirit, Brad founded AdPointDirect in 1999, an online advertising marketplace. He oversaw system development, venture capital funding, and forged partnerships with KPMG and the international law firm Fulbright & Jaworski. Brad was granted three US patents for online digital media transactions in 2005, 2006, and 2007, which were later acquired by a consortium of global technology companies. Brad’s patented system was truly ahead of its time. His idea laid the groundwork for what has become a fundamental part of how advertising units are bought and sold across all media platforms today.

Long recognized as a colorist, Brad’s paintings exhibit a dynamic interplay of color, texture, and form, reflecting his mastery of color theory and artistic vision. His abstract work is defined by gestural and layered techniques, with vibrant overlays of color to convey energy and depth. The compositions are harmonious and rich with movement and emotion. His work demonstrates a thoughtful curation of color, creating visual landscapes that captivate and engage the viewer.

Brad’s paintings have been widely exhibited across North America and the Pacific Rim and are featured in several private and corporate collections worldwide. Transitioning from traditional landscape painting to abstract, his mixed media paintings have appeared in group and juried exhibitions in Hawaii and throughout the US.

Brad’s art extends beyond the canvas through notable collaborations. His designs have appeared on Tuscan-made scarves, custom snowboards, and skis. A collaboration with Italy-based iNature produced a finalist entry at the 8th Annual International Design Awards. Since 2014, Brad has partnered with legendary board shaper Jimmy Lewis on surfboard surface graphics for the Super Tech line of high-performance surfboards and SUP paddles. He also developed textile graphics for Honolua Surf Co’s apparel line.

Brad Forsythe’s fine art career is marked by creativity and innovation, captivating audiences and collectors worldwide. His unique blend of technical skill, artistic vision, and distinctive approach as a colorist continue to evolve, reflecting his lifelong dedication to the arts.
